Craig G. Veith
Founder & Principal
Sound Resources, LLC

As Founder and Principal of Sound Resources, Veith brings a wealth of public affairs, media relations, grassroots and political campaign experience to the marketplace for an array of clients.  Specifically, Veith specializes in public affairs & issues management, crisis communications, labor issues, litigation communications support, media relations, public policy communications, communications training and third party & grassroots outreach.  His approach to client engagements is based on his understanding of the rough and tumble of politics — where no allegation goes unanswered and where strategic media relations and communications are leveraged aggressively on behalf of his clients’ interests.

Current and past clients include:  API (American Petroleum Institute), American Gaming Association, Consumer Alliance for Energy Security (CAES), Crosslink Strategy Group, Farm Credit Council, Glover Park Group, Roll International/Paramount Farms, Keeping Our Promise, Texas Beef Council, TheWadeGroup & the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  Veith served as senior media strategist for CAES, which won an historic legislative victory when the 109th Congress voted to open up American energy supplies on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), ending 25-year moratoria against energy exploration on the OCS.  In addition, Veith is currently the grassroots campaign manager for the Farm Credit Council as it seeks to modernize the Farm Credit System’s charter in the 2007 Farm Bill.  He is also campaign manager/chief message & media strategist for Keeping Our Promise, an organization dedicated to aggressive communications efforts in support of the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind.

Prior to founding Sound Resources, Veith served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Direct Impact, a leader in the grassroots industry.  As a member of Burson-Marsteller’s U.S. leadership team, Veith led the successful transition from the founders of Direct Impact to full integration into the WPP network of public relations agencies.  Veith also played a direct role as senior strategist for select clients, including the Business Roundtable, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the United States Telecom Association, as well as serving as the firm’s leader on business and new services development.

Before joining Direct Impact in 2002, Veith served as the Chairman of the U.S. Media Practice at Burson-Marsteller.  While at B-M, Veith developed and implemented integrated campaigns for a wide range of clients in the fields of transportation, telecommunications, environment, energy, international trade, agriculture and utility services.
